Solomon Corp. Receives Industry Partner Award
December 15, 2016
At Solomon Corporation, we firmly believe in helping individuals and organizations in the industry as part of our focus on our core values. In December, we were proud to be recognized for the contributions we make to the future of the industry.
On Thursday, December 8, Solomon Corporation was awarded a Championship level Industry Partner Award from Concordia Community College. Solomon Corporation assisted its Wind Energy Technology Department by refurbishing and donating equipment for an onsite training laboratory – which is the only one of its kind in the country – to help students gain hands-on experience with substations and LTC controls.
Department Chair Bruce Graham, said, “We are pleased to have nominated Solomon Corporation for an Industry Partnership Award. Solomon Corp has graciously provided many facility tours for our students, provided transformer wiring booklets, helped us construct our own electrical substation training facility, and provided many summer internship opportunities for our students.”
Earlier in the month, representatives from Solomon Corp attended the grand opening of the Kansas Municipal Utilities’ new training center in McPherson, KS. Utility companies from all over the state will utilize the 20,000 square foot facility to train the next generation of utility workers. The center will include classroom training and hands-on training space. Solomon Corporation was recognized for our donation of polemount, padmount and substation transformers.
A healthy company culture is essential to the long-term success of the organization and employee retention, as well as attracting top candidates. And it something we at Solomon Corporation take very seriously.
Company culture refers to refers to the beliefs and behaviors that determine how a company’s employees and management interact and handle outside business transactions, as well as the values and attitudes of employees in the business or organization.
The company culture at Solomon Corporation is built around five core values:
- Good people are the foundation of our business.
- Our success depends on satisfied customers.
- We expect to be the best at what we do.
- We support our community.
- We conduct business with integrity.
Our outreach into education touches on each of those values and helps to ensure that people can find good jobs, perform them well, and ensure that our industry continues to provide the services the public needs.
